| Day 2 | Cairo | After breakfast, visit the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities where a vast number of treasures made of gold, bronze, alabaster, silver and more from Egypt's most glamorous times are exhibited, including the new mummy room and the objects from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Continue to Old Cairo to visit the Coptic Church of Abu Sarga. Have dinner on the Citadel Cruise along The Nile. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Safir Hotel or Similar |
| Day 3 | Sakkarra | After breakfast, visit the only surviving representative of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. We will also stop at the museum, where the remains of the Solar Boat of Cheops are displayed. Continue to Memphis, the first capital of a united Egypt, and Sakkara, the necropolis of Memphis. At Sakkara we will visit the newly opened museum and tour the Step Pyramid complex of Djoser, which predates the Giza pyramids and is the world's first monumental building constructed entirely in stone. We will also tour the smaller Pyramid of Teti, built for a Sixth Dynasty king, whose burial chamber is covered with pyramid texts to ensure the survival of his soul, and the mastaba tombs of the Nobles Ti and Ptahhotep. In the evening, visit Khan El Khalili Bazaar, an Oriental Bazaar that goes back to the 10th century. Dinner is at a local restaurant. | Day 4 | Alexandria | After breakfast, go on a full day tour to the ancient City of Alexandria "The Pearl of the Mediterranean", which was built by Alexander the Great in 331 BC. The highlights of your tour will include: The Greco-Roman Museum, which shows the history and Archeology during the Roman Era; Fort of Qaitbey, built in the 1480's by Sultan Qaitbey which houses the Light house of Pharos, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World; the Pillar of Pompey which is the tallest ancient monument in Alexandria; the Ancient Catacombs of Kom El-Shuqafa which dates back to the first century AD; and the great library of Alexandria. Drive back to Cairo in time to catch the sleeper car to Aswan. Meal(s) Included: Breakfast, Dinner Overnight at Sleeper Train or Similar |
